Following on from a recent meeting with representatives from the Board of Management of Luttrellstown Community College. I have received the following statement from the Department of Education.
The appointment of a Project Manager for LCC.
The process of appointing a Project Manager is currently in hand . A framework of Project Managers to manage Rapid Delivery projects has already been set up. The tender process for a project manager for the Luttrellstown Community College is expected to commence shortly with a view to having the project manager appointed by end of September 2011, to deliver the project for mid 2013 subject to infrastructural issues being addressed and no unforeseen circumstances arising.
New Road access to the site.
Officials from the Department attended a meeting in March 2011 with Fingal County Council regarding access to the site and road layout plans. The Department will be liaising with Fingal County Council in relation to this as the project progresses.
Planning process with Fingal Co. Co.
The planning application process for the school will be in line with normal planning procedures. When the Project Manager is appointed, they will be working with the design team to progress the planning application to meet the required deadlines.
Responsibility for the project is now assigned to Construction and Developing Areas Section within th e Department of Education.
